Opoku Ware House successfully defended the inter-houses trophy they won last year
by beating Aggrey House to win the competition.
Aggrey with the college's sports prefect leading their team, were favourites
at the start of the competition but could not finish top as Opoku Ware came
up strongly. Opoku Ware house who are noted for poaching trophies from only
basketball competitions bagged the inter-house athletics trophy today with the help of new athletics sensation Frank Goloe, brother of
the graduated Eric Goloe.
All eyes were set on Pearson house to do the bagging of the trophy as they
led the pile with 67 points while Aggrey house trailed behind them with 50
points yesterday.
Unlike yesterday, today took a different turn as all the
houses competed strongly. The form one athletes of the various houses who
are bent on joining the school team brought out the best in them to the
surprise of all those present.
In the end, Opoku Ware house came first. Mr. Lartey expressed his
satisfaction after the end of the competition which has aided him get
talents to improve the college athletics' team. With the departure of Eric
Goloe, Ahmed Deedat, Collins Amponsah and a host of other athletes, the
college's athletics team needed to beimproved as we aspire to dominate
athletics in the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole.
The headmaster was pleased with the outcome of the competition as it was a
peaceful one and used the opportunity to once again announce to them the

of all the students.
