Saturday, February 2, 2008

The inter-colleges athletic competition kicks off in March and Prempeh College have the responsibilty of defending the trophy that has never eluded them for years once again.

On the 10th and 11th of March, one month after the African Cup of Nations, Prempeh College's athletes will fight it out with Kumasi High, Kumasi Anglican and a host of other schools for the Zone D trohpy of the Inter-schools athletic competitions.

Athletics sensation Frank Goloe is ready to lead Prempeh.

The new sports master of the college, Mr. Emmanuel Abban (aka Foyoo) will have the honour of marshalling a team that will conquer all others in the Ashanti Region. Training has started for the athletes of the college while the new talents will be unearthed to strengthen the squad during the inter-houses athletic competition to be organised this month.

Though the date for the inter-houses has not been set, Foyoo believes that Prempeh College has what it takes to win the inter-co and super zonals next month. The super-zonals will come off on the 17th and 18th of March this year, a week after the inter-colleges.

The soccer team is also working to be in good shape though the National Milo Socer competition will take place in June/July this year. Nestle Ghana, the organisers disappointed Ghanaians big time last year as the competition did not come off but have assured the college that there will be no such disappointments this year.
