National Milo Football Championship 2007

Profile of Prempeh Football Team, 2006/07

Manu Paul (Captain)

Class: 3V

Alma Mater: New Tafo M/A JSS

House: Butler

Club: Hearts Babies

Position: Attacking Midfielder

Role Model: Micheal Essien

Future Club: Chelsea or Hearts of Oak

Message: I want to lift the trophy as the captain but I cant do it without the help of all Amanfoo so please come and help us.

We remember K. Manu as the fellow who three years ago took center stage at the Inter-Regional Sports festival in Sunyani, dominating the midfield of the Ashanti team as a mere form one boy. He helped Prempeh win the national championship that year. Now in his captaincy year, Manu is very experienced in the midfield. However, playing the striker role for Butler House in our soccer league the past two years has honed his skills in the attacking machinery. This means he can be very effective if he plays a supportive role just behind our two strikers (Sadat and Brenya). Because we have highly outstanding group of midfielders to control the midfield this year, this would be a highly effective strategy. This is one of the many reasons why Prempeh's strike-force is the greatest we have had in recent years.

But Paul's success on the field has not attracted any admirers among Prempeh teaching staff. Because of his penchant for wearing non-prescribed, coloured clothes on campus, Manu is rarely seen around the Administration block. This disdain for the green shirt has earned him several enemies among the staff; he walks on campus in a circuitous route, evading a gathering of teachers at all times.
