K. Manu invited to join National Under-17 team

Tuesday, May 30, 2006

Despite misssing the national team trials because of illness, Prempeh's form 2 football icon Paul Manu (K. Manu) has been invited to join the national team. This was achieved by virtue of his impeccable football reputation, having already been the first form one boy to play in the Ashanti team.

K. Manu arriving for the Inter-Regionals Sports festival in Sunyani as a mere form 1 boy in September 2005. Now in form 2, he gets to represent his country.

One of the coaches who came with the Black Starlets coach Bashiru, told Bashiru that "Prempeh's ace midfielder, who is not present today, must be considered for the team." So they called Ahmed for his opinion and Ahmed informed them that K. Manu is successor to the Prempeh captaincy when he leaves in June.

The national coach then informed K. Manu to appear with the previously selected Prempeh trio for the national team's camping, which begins at the end of the national Milo football competition in June 2006.

Our headmaster, however, is very disappointed that Senior Manu's success is getting to his head as the boy has started missing classes. Headmaster Owusu-Achiaw has asked prempeh.org to advise him and help steer him towards the right path.
