The national Under-17 team, Black Starlets, leave Winneba for Ho
where they are scheduled to play Power FC this afternoon.
We will bring you a report of the game.
Potsin Gomoa Academy's captain (right), winner of the 2006 Milo National Player of the year with Prempeh College's
Ahmed Deedat Amoako, 2005 Milo National Footballey of the year and the 2006 best Defender award winner.
Both players have guarranteed places on the national team roster
We have tried to take photos of the Starlets players for our readers but it is becoming increasingly difficult to do so.
Because of the intense competition among players for certain positions on the team, some fear that
allowing themselves to be photographed will make them vulnerable to powers of jujumen. They are actually very
frightened by the appearance on cameras around their training or residential facility.
The coaches gave us the green light to get photographs. But the look of apprehension on the faces of the boys when cameras are mentioned, are enough to discourage anyone from partaking in the art of photo-taking.
Besides, the coaches advised that because the boys are very cognizant of
the dangers of juju, if our photography were to coincide
with
a player's injury, for example, the superstitious boys will forever blame us for "destroying" them with juju.
In view of these revelations, we have decided to limit our photography to the ones of the players previously
shown from the 2006 Milo festivities.
But names of and biographical profiles of the players will be provided.
