Starlets lose 4-3, but Okei shines in 90 minutes

Thursday, August 17, 2006

Okei Stephen
Whereas most of the Black Starlets players are substituted during the trial matches in order for the coaches to evaluate other candidates for certain positions, Stephen Okei gets the full 90 minutes of play time.

Okei played 90 minutes in the game against Power FC in Ho yesterday. The game was scheduled to be played on Tuesday but it had to be postponed for a day because of problems with the pitch.

The Starlets were beaten 4-3. Ekow scored two goals and Abeiku added a third. But Okei was the center of attention again in defense. He says the Man of the Match award he earned previously has boosted his morale and only the best could come from him now.

Losing 4-3 (especially scoring 3 goals) against a team that finished in the premiership top 8 last season is a great achievement for the still burgeoning Starlets.
