Starlets to play Benin national U-17 team today

Saturday, August 26, 2006

The national under-17 football team, the Black Starlets, are scheduled to play a friendly match against their counterparts from Benin today. The game will be played at Sunyani Coronation Park.

This will be the second match for the Starlets this week, having already played Midtjyland FC on August 23.

Their match against Midtjyland in Accra, which ended goalless, aroused the ire and disappointment of fans. The angry fans wondered if this generation of Starlets are going to emulate their seniors in the art of shooting balls over the bar even when goal nets are empty.

The Starlets culd have scored several goals but wasted all their chances. They are expected to do better today.
