National (U-17) Team Selection to be held at Prempeh today

Tuesday, May 23, 2006

Stephen Okei (Class of 2006) and Eben Amoah (Class of 2005) after a game in the 2005 Milo championship.
The selection of the national Under-17 team, the Black Starlets, will take place today at the Prempeh College Stadium.

Prempeh was chosen because its team form the core of the future under-17 team.

Ahmed Deedat Amoako, Stephen Okei, goalkeeper Sampson Otoo, Eben Amoah and Kenneth Owusu Ansah, as well as many other former Prempeh stars are all invited for the trials.

If all goes well and Prempeh's players get selected, it will be the greatest contribution any school has made to a single national team.

Meanwhile, the defending national champions continue to prepare for the National Milo football competition which kicks of on June 24 - the very day prempeh could be in the grand final of the National Science & Maths Quiz competition.

This year's Milo, like last year's, is being held in Koforidua.
