Boys selected for the national under-17 team: From left: Ahmed Deedat Amoako (National Player of the Year, 2005),
Sampson Otoo (Ashanti's best Goalkeeper), Eben Amoah (who could not turn up for the trials
but have not been excluded completely) and defender Stephen Okei. Ahmed, Otoo and Okei were chosen for the Black Starlets.
The Prempeh College soccer boys made the college proud once again as
three of their players were selected for the National Under 17 team
yeaterday.
Ahmed Deedat Amoako once
again poved to all the doubting Thomases
why he is the National Best player for the youth side and the captain
of the college.
Sampson Otoo, the reigning
Ashanti Regional Best Golakeeper was also selected alongside the stalwart defender of
the college, Okei Stephen, who gave the sports master a very tough time
in convincing him to join the team during the Ashanti Regional Milo
Championship.
This goes to show why Mr. Lartey chersihes the player so much. Prempeh
College's Ebenezer Amoah, who is indisposed, could not make it to the
Prempeh park where the selection for the players took place.
If Ebenezer Amoah is selected later, Prempeh would have 4 players on the national team.
And if Martin "Apio"
Osei Nyarko of Tano Bofoakwa, who has a well cemented reputation earns a likely place in the team, Prempeh would have
5 stars on the national roster!
Coach
Bashiru Hayford, the new National Coach of the Under 17 National Team (Black Starlets)
praised the boys for their talent and skill. "I am not surprised at all
to hear that these boys are the defending champions of the
nation", Coach Bashiru said.
Prempeh College defends this year's National Milo Championship in
